Year of Drawing gets off to a flying start

Year of Drawing, our biggest arts project yet, has got off to a flying start with public drawing events all over Sussex and Hampshire sparking conversations about mental health.

Year of Drawing is a project from Make Your Mark, the arts and health programme for Sussex Partnership, supporting participation, imagination and mental health.

It is a year long drawing project that aims to increase access to the arts for people facing mental health challenges and their carers through participatory drawing events:

  • Pop up drawing studios across Sussex Partnership services
  • Public drawing events with local arts partners including the De La Warr Pavilion, Towner Art Gallery and CASS
  • Sculpture Park
  • Sussex Recovery and Discovery College courses
  • Accessible Postcard Exhibitions

You can get involved here.

A Year of Drawing is funded by Heads On through generous funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England and grants from Chalk Cliff Trust, John Horniman's Children's Trust, Rockinghorse Children's Charity and the Dixie Rose Findlay Charitable Trust.
