Ians Downslink Ultra Marathon

Over the last four months Ian has spent hours running over hills, along the seafront and around the streets, clocking up nearly 700 miles in training for the Downslink Ultra Marathon from Guildford to Shoreham!  On 2nd October he completed his run in an amazing 6.5 hours!

"It was a lot tougher than I had even anticipated.  It was a mental challenge as it was a physical one.  What really helped was all the generous support I have received."

Ian has suffered with depression and knows the impact this has had on him and indeed the people around him.  Eight years ago, Ian lost his wife to a heart attack, leaving him responsible for four young children, the youngest being just 6 months at the time.  What started out as going for a run to have some space has ended up as an obsession, enabling him to stay both physically and mentally fit - the latter being so important over the last eight years.

"A the last count I had raised £738.  So a really big thank you to all of you that have sponsored me.  Very much appreciated."
