We are delighted to announce our three-year funding partnership with Rockinghorse Children's Charity for the continuation of our Activities Programme at Chalkhill. Chalkhill is Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust hospital that treats children and young people, aged 12-18, experiencing emotional difficulties, mental health problems and eating disorders.
Rockinghorse have been instrumental in supporting the young people with mental health problems being cared for at Chalkhill, helping to fund the Activities Programme since 2015. The Activities Programme encourages the young people in the care of Chalkhill to integrate with others through activities they can be supported to continue once they leave hospital. It also facilitates young people to keep doing what is important to them and to re-engage in previous interests, as well as providing supported opportunities to try new things. The image on the right displays items for a bake sale held to raise proceeds for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
The charitable funding received will help to fund independent living skills groups, cooking groups, sensory items, physical activities, creative activities and volunteering opportunities in the wider community. Most importantly, the programme helps our young people to increase their self-esteem and confidence whilst improving their physical and mental health and well-being.
We are so grateful for this continued support, playing a vital part in the recovery process for young people receiving care and treatment at Chalkhill. Thank you Rockinghorse!
