Make Your Mark and Make For Tomorrow

Make Your Mark is the arts and health programme for Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Founded in January 2015 and funded by Heads On, the programme delivers and supports a range of arts-based participatory learning opportunities for service users, staff and carers.

The overall aim of MYM is to use the arts to make a difference to individuals, groups and communities, to develop an arts practice to help us tell stories, transform environments and bring new understandings of health and human experience to the public realm. By giving space to the imagination we seek to integrate creativity into the fabric of health care and create new possibilities for learning, health and wellbeing within our communities. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Make Your Mark deveopled a project called Make For Tomorrow, which brought together artists and performers to create an online arts programme for SPFT service users and staff. The ten-week project included a digital programme of live multi-arts workshops and a series of online conversations with actors, performers and authors as they exchanged experiences of living through the coronavirus lockdown. All of the workshops and conversation sessions were recorded and uploaded to the Make Your Mark YouTube channel, which you can view here.
