Takona choose Heads On as Charity of the Month
This month, Heads On have been chosen as charity of the month by Takona, an online clothing company with a strong interest in supporting mental health awareness and encouraging men to talk about their mental health.
Takona was founded with the goal of combining subtle automotive themes with a positive mental health message, aiming to tackle the stigma surrounding men’s mental health. The brand's founder, Lewis Warren, has always loved cars, from being able to name brands of cars from a young age, to making friends and memories within the car community to last a lifetime. Cars were his way of escaping, and as such have provided the inspiration for Takona.
Being involved in such a male-dominated hobby all his life, and having worked in mental health for several years, Lewis decided that he wanted his company to tackle the stigma surrounding mental health. The design ethos of Takona clothing includes subtle automotive themes, to act as a talking point for anyone interested in cars. By talking, people become more engaged and create new memories, and can feel more comfortable talking about their problems.
As well as expanding his business, Lewis aims to eventually hold events such as road trips, and raise money for charity, and if he promotes a positive mental health culture within the automotive community at the same time, then we're onto a winner.
