Running the Worthing Half Marathon to raise awareness of perinatal mental health and raise money for Heads On

Said Hannah Clyfton-Myers a Specialist Practitioner for the Service based in Worthing; " We are doing this because we all recognise how difficult it can be for women who struggle with mental health in the perinatal period.  We also know how hard it can be to also talk about these things and the stigma attached to the subject.

We wanted to try something achievable but challenging to us in recognition of the challenges to those suffering with perinatal mental illness."

Hannah has been nursing various injuries as she ups the mileage she runs.  Tina started her training from scratch and didn't think that she'd ever be able to run that far.  Rebecca is finding the logistics of training difficult being a single mother of four children!  She has had to drop the children at football training and goes for a run whilst they train!

Any Worthingites, do come along and cheer on the team proudly wearing their purple Heads On running vests!  And if you are feeling really inspired you can donate to their worthy cause on their Just Giving page:
