Marathon Man Ian strikes again

This Sunday, Heads On’s resident marathon man Ian Puttock will be taking on the monumental challenge of running a full marathon around a 400m track.

Inspired by the runners of the virtual Brighton and London Marathons earlier in the month, Ian decided to sign up to the virtual New York Marathon to raise money for Heads On’s Covid-19 Relief Fund. In order to complete the 26.2 miles of the marathon, Ian will be running 105 laps around the track at Worthing Leisure Centre, which is no mean feat!

Ian explains why he chose to do this task that us mere mortals could not endure! “Covid will have impacted us in all sorts of different ways. I have chosen to virtually run the New York marathon around a 400m running track.  That is at least 100 times around!  I am doing this to raise all important funds to help provide the mental health support needed as we all come to terms with the different and difficult world we are currently living in”.

The purpose of the Covid-19 Relief Fund is to provide patients and service users of Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust with support during these ongoing challenging times. Earlier in the year, the fund was used to provide financial assistance to service users who were facing adversity due to the lockdown restrictions. You can find out more about that here.

By supporting Ian, you will contributing to the Covid-19 Relief Fund, allowing us to help those in need as a result of this ongoing pandemic. Thank you!
