Local NCS Group donate care packages for service users being discharged from hospital

A local NCS group from Littlehampton, facilitated by charity Concordia, contacted Heads On after choosing mental health as a focus for their Social Action project week. They wanted to produce care packages for service users, containing self-care items and handwritten uplifting messages and quotes.

Sachin, a member of the team, said:

‘We chose Mental Health as our Social Action project as a lot of us have a lot of experience with mental health problems and so we felt that this would be a good problem to tackle. By creating these care packages, we hope to have made an impact on our community and let people know that they are not alone in their fight to improve their mental health. We want to thank Heads On for allowing us to partner with them and for letting us donate our care packages to their charity. Thanks, NCS Littlehampton’

These packages have been delivered to SPFT hospital Meadowfield in Worthing, to be distributed to service users when they leave the site. The matron at Larch ward, Meadowfield, commented:

'The patients on Larch loved these care packages and particularly enjoyed the hot chocolate. A nice appreciated little treat , thank you.'

Thank you so much to the team for getting in touch and working so hard on delivering these packs!
