Covid Response - Care Packages for Sussex Inpatient Units

Two weeks ago our care packages were delivered to Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust inpatient units, containing refreshments, treats and toiletries for staff working on the wards in lockdown.

The hard work of the dedicated staff on the wards and inpatient units during these testing times has been incredible, and we wanted to show our thanks with these care packages.

These wouldn't have been possible without kind donations from:

  • Waitrose in Hawkhurst, Brighton, Lewes, Worthing, Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill
  • Morrisons in Littlehampton, Worthing, Brighton and Bognor Regis
  • Marks and Spencer in Worthing
  • Coop and One Stop convenience stores in Bognor Regis
  • ABI Snack Foods (a local wholesaler in Worthing)

Yale University Press also donated several boxes of two fantastic books for staff to read whilst on their breaks.

The care packages were then delivered by a Sussex 4x4 Response volunteer and SPFT's very own Chris McGonigall and Ginny Wilkinson.

The feedback we have had back about the care packages has been lovely. We are currently in the process of assembling and sending out similar items to the community teams across Sussex and Hampshire.

If you would like to donate any non-perishable food items for the community team care packages, such as tea, coffee, cup-a-soups, or individually wrapped sweets or biscuits, please drop them off, clearly labelled, at the Trust HQ building reception on the Swandean site. Thank you!
