POSTPONED - Walk for Wards 2020

PLEASE NOTE: Walk for Wards will no longer be taking place on 16th May. Due to the current uncertainty surrounding Covid-19, we have decided to postpone the event until autumn. It will still be taking place on a Saturday at Glynde Estates. Watch this space for the new date!

Get your teams together for Heads On's biggest event of the year - Walk for Wards 2020!

Walk or run 5 or 10k around the beautiful Glynde Estates, situated near the county town of Lewes, on Saturday 16th May. Walk for Wards is a great way to get together with your friends and family and participate in a team fundraising event. Everyone is welcome, including your four-legged friends!

Tickets are £10 per adult, and £5 per child. For a family of two adults and two children, a family ticket costing £25 can be purchased. The entry fee includes a (new!) Walk for Wards t-shirt, and a complimentary coffee at the event. Please click here to register.

This year, the focus of Walk for Wards is on raising money for the suicide prevention projects Heads On will be delivering in line with SPFT's Towards Zero Suicide strategy. An entire community is changed by suicide; estimates suggest that for every suicide, 115 people are affected. We hope that by focussing the walk in this way, we will encourage people to share their stories and raise the profile of suicide prevention across the county. As such, fundraising will be automatically allocated to this suicide prevention fund. However, walkers who choose to raise money for a particular ward or service within SPFT are also very welcome to do so (you will have the opportunity to specify when you sign up).

Another new feature for Walk for Wards 2020 is the option to donate in lieu of fundraising. We understand that some people may feel uncomfortable asking for sponsorship, especially if you take part in lots of sponsorship events. You will be given the option to donate when you sign up. Alternatively, click here to donate. However, please don't be afraid of fundraising - we will give you lots of hints and tips, and you can click here to download our fundraising guide.

Glynde Estates is a 10 minute drive from Lewes, and is easily accessible from the A27. Glynde train station is a 9 minute walk from the event, and has hourly connections to and from Eastbourne, Lewes and Brighton.
