The Christmas Ask

Christmas will soon be upon us, and we have a favour to ask. Many of our service users will be spending their Christmases on the wards, often without family and friends. Please help us to supply the wards with gifts and presents for service users to make their festive period merrier.

Here are some gift ideas as requested from an Occupational Therapist:

Items for self-soothing boxes to help patients manage distress:

-              Shoe or craft boxes

-              Eye masks
-              Toiletry bags
-              Lavender bags
-              Fidget toys
-              Stress balls
-              Soft toys/bean bags
-              Herbal teas and hot choc sachets
-              Nail varnish and nail files
-              Note pads and pens
-              Pamper products

-              Coloured pens and pencils

Health spas to promote self-care, increase self-esteem and motivation:

-              Pamper products
-              Nail varnish, files, and remover pads

-              Massage gadgets and mats
-              Foot spas

Resources to tackle boredom and improve patient experience:

-              Books
-              DVDs
-              Board games

Welcome packs to promote self-care, self-esteem and wellbeing:

-              Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, tooth paste, toothbrushes, deodorant)
-              Toiletry bags
-              Sponges and flannels
-              Brushes or combs
-              Nail files
